2020 was a year that uprooted our world, our health, our families, and our sense of security. There are simply no words to capture the magnitude — and layers — of unthinkable loss and trauma we experienced as a world and that changed us forever.
And yet, if there is one thing we have learned from our lifetime with cystic fibrosis (CF), it is that when you face adversity — even the unthinkable, cruel, and wrenchingly painful kind — often what you find is that you are stronger, more capable, and more resilient than you ever knew possible.
2020 was the year that proved we can do hard things.
As we look back at 2020, we feel immense pride and gratitude for the hard things Emily’s Entourage achieved, the way we pushed through, and the organization that emerged — stronger, more capable, and more resilient than we even knew possible.
In the past year, we expanded our research funding to fill critical unmet needs for individuals with CF nonsense mutations, launched a pilot patient registry collaboration to speed clinical trial recruitment, pivoted galas to virtual events, and shined a light on the remarkable CF community. It was a year of immense progress towards our goal of speeding lifesaving breakthroughs, proving that even in the face of great adversity, Emily’s Entourage prevailed.
Diseases like CF don’t wait for pandemics to pass. Because of you, our progress continued full speed ahead.
In a year where it would have been easy to retreat, instead, you did the opposite — you leaned in. Thank you from the depths of our hearts for your unwavering support for Emily’s Entourage.
