Humans of EE: ecco i presidenti onorari del Gala di Philadelphia 2019, Kami e Josh Verne
On Fridays, Emily’s Entourage (EE) likes to highlight the remarkable stories and diverse perspectives that make up our expansive, incredible Entourage in the “Humans of EE” series, a riff on the photography project and phenomenon Humans of New York. This special “Humans of EE” blog edition features the remarkable duo Kami and Josh Verne, honorary chairs for the 8th Annual “Evening with Emily’s Entourage” gala on December 7, and how they are propelling fast breakthroughs for nonsense mutations of Cystic Fibrosis (CF)!
Kami and Josh Verne are both active philanthropists in the local community and it is safe to say, their passion knows no bounds! When they are not rallying for EE or other organizations near to their heart, Kami is a stay-at-home mom who used to be a criminal defense lawyer and Josh is a seasoned entrepreneur.
The Kramer-Golinkoff family first met Kami at a friendship circle walk and cemented their relationship when they attended the Verne’s for shabbat dinner. Josh particularly remembers falling for Annie, Emily’s younger sister and Honorary EE President, and is excited to be her date at the gala.
“I am obsessed with the family and when they tell me to jump, I say ‘how high?’ because
we will find a cure for Emily and so many others.”
As honorary chairs for the 8th Annual Serata con l'entourage di Emily gala, both Kami and Josh have been hard at work making sure the event reaches its fundraising goals, especially with corporate sponsorships. When asked about their EE involvement, they expressed their appreciation towards the positive attitude and relentless hard work of all Entourage members. “I am obsessed with the family and when they tell me to jump, I say ‘how high?’ because we will find a cure for Emily and so many others,” said Kami.
“These people are heroes in our backyard. The entire community should be rallying around them
and I hope I can inspire people to do so.”
EE is always on the Verne’s minds and they are “honored to be honored” on December 7 in front of a packed audience of fellow philanthropists, professionals, and community members. They are eager to help fund a cure for the 10% of the CF community who do not benefit from the approved life-saving modulators on the market. “These people are heroes in our backyard. The entire community should be rallying around them and I hope I can inspire people to do so,” exclaimed Josh.
Emily’s Entourage is grateful beyond belief to have such game-changers involved with its signature Philadelphia gala and looks forward to presenting the Verne’s with their honorary award during the EE in Bloom program on December 7 starting at 9pm.
