I recently learned about Emily’s Entourage (EE), a nonprofit organization that raises funds and awareness to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). CF is a progressive genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system.

Emily’s Entourage was formed by the friends and family of Emily, a 30-year-old woman with advanced stage CF to honor her commitment to living vibrantly. We’re on a mission to find a cure for CF so we can restore life and breath to Emily and the 70,000 others living with this devastating disease.

We firmly believe that only if we come together as a community to take a stand against CF will our voice be heard.

Bring Emily’s Entourage Back to your Community:
- Play it Forward: A fee-for-entrance sports tournament
  1. Secure appropriate venue and equipment (think JCC, School Gym, Township facility or park)
  2. Get pinnies from EE (email EmilysEntourage@gmail.com)
  3. Send an e-vite with link to the EE video (www.EmilysEntourage.org)
  4. Follow up with an e-vite thank you after the event with an ask to “play it forward” by helping to spread awareness about EE to their friends and family
- Take a Breather for Emily: A fun day out at a nail salon, yoga studio or similar venue to raise money for EE
  1. Ask your favorite salon, studio or the like to host and donate part of the days proceeds to EE.
  2. Send an evite with link to EE video (www.EmilysEntourage.org) and time slots for people to sign up for an appointment or designated time for the class
  3. Follow–up with an thank you after the event with an ask to “play it forward” by helping to spread awareness about EE to their friends and family
- Create for a Cure: A group craft project
  1. Choose a craft project (knitting, candle/holder making, duct tape art, etc.)
  2. Find a venue and purchase materials appropriate for the craft you chose
  3. Send an evite with a link to EE video (www.EmilysEntourage.org)
  4. Suggest an entrance fee for the event to be donated to EE
- Car Wash for a Cure
  1. Invite friends to help with a car wash
  2. Find a location (parking lot, gas station, etc.)
  3. Send out emails to local guest list with link to EE video (www.EmilysEntourage.org) and time/place of your car wash
  4. Gather supplies — buckets, soap, rags & towels
  5. Donate proceeds to EE
- Entertaining for Emily: Offer your services to raise funds for EE
  1. Send an email to family or friends offering to:
    - Babysit
    - Cook or bake
    - Wash their car
    - Set up or clean up for a party
    - Help with any needed service
  2. Promise to donate your proceeds to EE
- Come up with your Own Project Idea: An opportunity to use your creativity to raise money for a great cause.
