Emily’s Entourage (EE) is attending the 2019 BIO International Convention at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA. On Day 1, EE co-founder Emily Kramer-Golinkoff was interviewed for Good Day Bio, a TV talk show broadcast in hotels around Philadelphia and in meeting halls throughout the convention center during the week, hosted by by Mike Huckman, Global Practice Leader, Executive Communications of W2O Group. On the talk show, Emily shared the patient perspective and spoke about the mission and work EE is doing for nonsense mutations of Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
On Day 2, Emily will take part in the Fireside Chat titled “Understanding the Voices of Patients: Unique Perspective on Healthcare” at 11am on June 4. Emily will be joined by Christopher Anselmo, Market Intelligence Manager of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Eve Bukowski, Vice President of Patient Advocacy at CLCA. This main session will be moderated by Julie Gerberding, Executive Vice President and Chief Patient Officer of Merck & Co, Inc.
The panel will focus on the critical and evolving role of patients over the years who are no only only increasingly involved in driving their own health care, but also tirelessly advocating to advance research and drug development and to secure public policies that support patients. In the panel, Emily and colleagues will share their health journeys, their perspectives on what it means to be a patient, and how they are advocating to get treatments to patients faster.
The BIO International Convention is an annual event hosted by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization, bringing together over 16,000 attendees from 74 countries, and featuring over 1,500 educational sessions. EE is grateful to once again have the opportunity to attend and participate in this conference and looks forward to new collaborations with organizations who share the same drive to bring fast, transformative therapies to patients.
